this was a last minute decision added to our italy trip, recommended by a local in montepulciano and we couldn't be happier!! monte argentario is vacation spot for more locals around tuscany and rome, and you could tell with it's authentic charm!! 10/10 recommend places to eat: - Ristorante Il Moletto (family-run restaurant located on the pier of Porto Santo Stefano) - L'Oste Dispensa (menu that is seasonally inspired with breathtaking views located on the Giannella beach) - Alicina Sul Porto (located in the center of the seaside village of Porto Ercole that features dishes excelling in both flavor and presentation) places to stay: - Casale Sterpeti: This adorable boutique bed and breakfast had incredible service, an organic breakfast that was freshly-made with local ingredients, and within a 20 minute drive to the coast! places to explore: The most beautiful beaches in Tuscany (ordered from north to south): - Marina di Alberese (long sandy beach) - Talamone (lovely seaside village great for walks and two rocky coves reached by series of stairs) - Giannella (long sandy beach and pine forest between the Tyrrhenian Sea and nothern side of Orbetello lagoon) - Feniglia (southern side of Monte Argentario) - Spiaggia Lunga (10-15 minute walk on steep slope but totally worth it!!) - Acqua Dolce (hidden cove that is a short and easy walk with clear water, sunbed rentals, and a popular beach among the locals) The Medieval town of Magliano in Toscana: Walk around the ancient defense wall built during the renaissance period of this hidden gem small town. - Places to eat in Magliano include: Trattoria la Poventa, Ristorante da Sandra, Osteria Maremmana, & Vecchio Forno 'il Molino'
